Our Story

Roots

We are a group of Christians, mainly from the Dublin 7 and Ashtown area, who have come together to form a local church. Our roots come from the Baptist church who met in Phibsboro for 100 years, but outgrew this building in the 90s and moved to become Jamestown Road Baptist Church in Finglas. This church has been praying for many years for new local churches to develop around the Northside to spread the gospel of Jesus in each local community.

Development

In January 2019 a small group began meeting in Cormac and Áine Walsh’s house in Ashtown to work towards starting a new local church together. Over time our community has developed and strengthened. Through the covid-19 pandemic we met as restrictions allowed, by video call, in the back rooms of the Hole in the Wall and Hanlon’s Corner pubs, and in the crescent park. Since late 2021 we have been meeting in the Royal Canal community centre.

Leadership

Cormac Walsh has been leading the new church in these early stages of formation, under the oversight of the Jamestown Road church. Our goal is to establish as an independent local church and develop local leaders from within our church.

Cormac grew up in Kerry and is married to Áine from Glasnevin. They have 3 young children. He worked as a Civil Engineer on sites around Dublin until early 2022, when he moved to working full-time on leading the developing church.
